Nepal's Kathmandu Valley holds one of the densest concentrations of UNESCO World Heritage Sites anywhere on earth. This journey explores the temple squares of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan, then heads west to Pokhara, gateway to the Annapurna range, for a mountain flight past some of the world's highest peaks.

Arrive in the Nepali capital, framed by the Kathmandu Valley's surrounding hills. Settle in before a welcome dinner.
Explore Kathmandu's Durbar Square, a maze of temples and courtyards, then climb to Swayambhunath, the hilltop stupa overlooking the valley.
Visit the beautifully preserved medieval squares of Bhaktapur and Patan, both known for their intricate wood and metal craftsmanship.
Visit the sacred Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath along the Bagmati River, followed by Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world, timing the visit for the evening lighting of butter lamps.
Fly to Pokhara, set on the shores of Phewa Lake beneath the Annapurna range, with the afternoon free to explore the lakeside.
Rise before dawn for the drive up to Sarangkot for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, then spend the afternoon on a boat ride across Phewa Lake.
Take an optional early mountain flight for close-up views of the Annapurna and Everest ranges, with the rest of the day free to relax by the lake.
Return to Kathmandu with the afternoon free for last-minute shopping in the Thamel district before a farewell dinner.
